ISCREENING TALKS
Background Checks Beyond Employees
Vendors, contractors, consultants and partners walk through the same door as employees — and are almost never checked like them. A caselet on widening the verification net.

Most organisations screen the people they hire and stop there. Meanwhile vendors, consultants, contract staff, franchise partners and delivery agents walk through the same door, touch the same data and carry the same brand — unchecked.
This caselet, written for iScreening Talks, follows a company that discovered its exposure sat entirely outside its payroll: a third-party service provider with a director who had already been debarred elsewhere.
The takeaway is a simple reframing. Screening is not an HR formality attached to an offer letter; it is a risk boundary drawn around everyone who can act on your behalf.
